How it works

In the anvil system, the blade presses the wood against the anvil and cuts it, instead of passing it by like scissors. This is precisely why the cut works even in hard and dry wood, where bypass secateurs require more force. For living, sap-carrying shoots, the bypass principle, on the other hand, is the gentler choice.
